Geared traction

A motor drives the sheave through a worm or helical gearbox. The workhorse of Indian mid-rise housing: proven, serviceable, and every technician in the country knows it.

Hydraulic

A pump pushes oil into a cylinder and a ram lifts the car. No load reaches the roof, which is why it suits buildings that were never designed to carry a lift.

Passenger lifts are the largest share of the more than a hundred installations and commissionings the team has carried out across Delhi NCR, in apartments, offices, malls and institutions. We size a car and dispatch strategy from real traffic figures rather than a catalogue default, and back it with genuine controllers and machines instead of the cheapest equivalent on the market. Sizing

How a passenger lift actually gets specified.

Traffic analysis first, cabin finish last. Getting this order wrong is the single most common reason a new building ends up with queues in the lobby.

Count the population, not the floors

Total occupants across all served levels. A twelve-floor building with four flats per floor behaves very differently from a twelve-floor office with ninety desks per floor.

Fix the five-minute handling capacity

The share of the population the lift group must move in the busiest five minutes. Residential buildings are usually specified around 5–7 per cent; offices need 12–15 per cent.

Set the interval target

Average wait between cars at the main landing. Below 40 seconds reads as good service; past 60 seconds people start using the stairs and complaining.

Derive load, speed and car count

Only now do capacity, speed and the number of cars fall out of the arithmetic. Speed follows travel height: roughly 1 m/s per 30 m of rise as a starting point.

Check the shaft against the answer

Available shaft, pit and headroom either accommodate that specification or force a drive change. This is where MRL and hydraulic options usually enter the conversation.

Choose doors, controls and finish

Door width drives loading time more than cabin size does. Finish is the last decision and the only one that can be changed later without touching the shaft.

Before you ask for a quotation

What is the passenger lift price in Delhi NCR?

Passenger elevator price is driven by capacity, stops, speed, drive type and door width, in that order. Cabin finish moves the figure far less than people expect. We quote after a shaft survey, because a quotation written without pit and headroom figures is a guess that changes later.

How many floors before I need gearless instead of geared?

Around fifteen floors, or wherever travel passes about 45 to 60 metres. Below that, geared traction is usually the better value. Above it, the ride quality and energy difference start to justify the cost.

Can we install a lift in a building that is already occupied?

Yes. This is where MRL, hydraulic and shallow-pit options earn their place, since they reduce or remove the need for a machine room and deep pit excavation under a live structure.

What shaft size should the architect leave?

Send us the intended capacity and we will return the shaft, pit and headroom dimensions in writing at drawing stage. Correcting a shaft after casting is the most expensive mistake in the whole process.

How long does installation take?

For a typical eight-stop passenger lift, erection and commissioning runs about three to five weeks once the shaft is handed over plumb, dry and with power available. Delays are almost always civil-side.
