Elevator Repair
Diagnosis first, parts second. A lift that keeps failing for the same reason is being reset rather than repaired, and that is a choice somebody made.
Scope
Fix the cause, not the symptom.
Resetting a controller clears a fault and teaches you nothing. We read the fault log and find out why the trip happened, because the same trip will happen again.
What is included
- Fault diagnosis. Controller fault log, safety chain tracing and mechanical inspection to find the actual cause.
- Door system repair. Operators, interlocks, skates, rollers and safety edges — the most common repair by a wide margin.
- Controller and drive repair. Board-level diagnosis, contactor and drive replacement, parameter recovery.
- Mechanical repair. Brakes, guide shoes, ropes, sheaves and safety gear.
- Levelling and ride correction. Drive tuning and rail alignment where the complaint is quality rather than failure.
- Written report. What failed, why, what was replaced and what to expect next. Useful when the lift is under warranty or dispute.
On a call
What happens when you report a fault.
If anybody is inside the car, call rather than email. Trapped-passenger calls skip every other queue we have.
Call the line
You reach a technician who can often identify the fault from the description and bring the right part on the first visit.
Trapped passengers first
If anyone is in the car, that becomes the only job until they are out. Nothing else is scheduled ahead of it.
Diagnosis on site
Fault log, safety chain and mechanical check. We aim to name the cause before quoting anything.
Quotation before parts
Except where safety requires immediate action, you approve the part and price before it is fitted.
Repair and test
The lift is tested under load before being returned to service, not just restarted.
Report and recommendation
What failed and why, plus an honest view on whether the lift is now due for modernization.
Common faults
What we are usually called out for.
Four faults account for most repair calls across the buildings we serve. Three of the four are preventable with proper maintenance.
Door not closing or reopening
Interlock, safety edge or operator adjustment. Preventable, and usually signalled weeks in advance by noise.
Car stopping between floors
Safety circuit trip, drive fault or governor. Needs diagnosis, not a reset.
Levelling off at landings
Drive tuning, brake wear or rope stretch. A trip hazard as much as a fault.
Unusual noise or vibration
Brake, bearing, guide shoe or rail. Worth stopping the lift for rather than running until it fails.
Coverage
Elevator Repair across the NCR.
Engineers dispatched from Ghaziabad. Survey visits in all six districts are free.
Common questions
What people ask before booking
Do you repair lifts you do not maintain?
Yes. We will also tell you honestly if the machine is beyond economic repair rather than starting a series of chargeable visits.
How fast can you attend?
Trapped-passenger calls are immediate priority. For other faults, response depends on your contract — AMC customers have a defined window.
Will you quote before replacing a part?
Yes, except where a safety component has failed and the lift cannot safely return to service without it. In that case we act and tell you immediately.
Why does the same fault keep coming back?
Because the cause was not addressed. Repeat faults are almost always a symptom being reset. Send us the history and we will find the pattern.
When is repair no longer worth it?
Roughly past twelve years, when controller and drive parts get scarce. At that point we would rather talk about modernization than keep charging for repairs.
Something wrong with the lift?
Describe the fault and we will tell you whether it needs a visit today or can wait for the next scheduled service. If anyone is trapped, call instead.
